This Cookie Policy explains how Autocast I/O Pty Ltd ("we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit or use the Autocast website at autocast.io and our related services (the "Services"). It explains what these technologies are, why we use them, and the choices you have to control them.

This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains more broadly how we handle your personal information.

1. WHAT ARE COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES?

In Short: Cookies are small text files stored on your device that help websites work and remember things about you.

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your computer or mobile device when you visit it. Cookies let the site recognise your device, keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is being used.

We also use "similar technologies" such as your browser's local storage. These work like cookies in that they store small pieces of information on your device, but the data stays in your browser rather than being sent back to our servers with every request. Throughout this policy, references to "cookies" include these similar technologies unless we say otherwise.

2. WHY DO WE USE THEM?

In Short: To keep you logged in, remember your settings, keep the Services secure, and understand how they are used.

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate and secure the Services, to remember your choices so you do not have to set them again, and to measure and improve how the Services perform. Some of these are essential to features such as signing in; others are optional and help us make Autocast better.

3. WHAT TYPES OF COOKIES DO WE USE?

We group the cookies we use into the following categories.

Strictly necessary (essential) cookies

These cookies are required for the Services to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are typically set in response to actions you take, such as logging in or filling in forms.

  • • Authentication and session. When you sign in, our authentication provider (Supabase) sets secure cookies — for example, cookies with names beginning with sb- — so that we can keep you logged in and associate your requests with your account as you move around the site.
  • • Security. These cookies help protect your account and the Services, for example by maintaining the integrity of your session.

Because these cookies are essential, if you block them parts of the Services — including signing in — will not work.

Analytics and performance cookies

These cookies help us understand how visitors use the Services — for example which pages are popular and how people move through the site — so we can improve them. The information they collect is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.

  • • Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies (such as _ga, _gid and _ga_<id>) to distinguish visitors and measure usage. This data is processed by Google on our behalf. You can learn more, and opt out across all sites, using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Functionality and preference cookies

These remember choices you make so the Services feel personalised and consistent. Much of this is stored in your browser's local storage rather than in traditional cookies (see section 5).

4. THIRD-PARTY COOKIES

In Short: Some cookies are set by trusted third parties that help us run the Services.

In addition to the cookies we set ourselves, some are set by third parties who provide services to us:

  • • Google. Google Analytics (usage measurement) sets analytics cookies as described above.
  • • Social sign-in providers. If you choose to sign in with a third-party account (such as Google or Apple), that provider may set its own cookies as part of the login process. Their use of cookies is governed by their own privacy and cookie policies, not ours.
5. LOCAL STORAGE AND OTHER SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

In Short: We store some of your preferences in your browser so the Services remember them between visits.

Autocast keeps a number of your settings in your browser's local storage. This stays on your device and is not transmitted to us with your requests. It is used to remember things such as:

  • • your light or dark theme preference;
  • • which tab or view you last had open;
  • • your active filters, saved filter bookmarks and profile filter;
  • • your comparisons and other on-screen configuration.

You can clear this information at any time through your browser settings (for example, by clearing site data for autocast.io). Doing so will reset these preferences to their defaults.

6. WHAT ABOUT ADVERTISING?

In Short: Our free plan shows adverts, but we do not use third-party advertising cookies to track you across the web.

The Autocast free plan is supported by advertising. The adverts we display are served by us directly as simple images and do not rely on third-party advertising networks or tracking cookies to profile you across other websites. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent.

7. HOW CAN YOU CONTROL COOKIES?

In Short: You can manage or delete cookies through your browser, but blocking essential cookies will stop you from signing in.

Most browsers let you view, manage, delete and block cookies for a website. You can usually find these controls in your browser's settings or preferences menu, and you can set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies. Because our sign-in relies on essential cookies, blocking all cookies will prevent you from logging in and using account features.

To opt out of Google Analytics specifically, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. To clear preferences we keep in local storage, clear the site data for autocast.io in your browser.

8. DO-NOT-TRACK SIGNALS

Most browsers, and some mobile operating systems and applications, include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature you can enable to signal that you do not want your online activity monitored. There is currently no agreed industry standard for how DNT signals should be handled, so we do not respond to them at this time. If a standard is adopted that we are required to follow, we will update this policy accordingly.

9. DO WE UPDATE THIS POLICY?

In Short: Yes, we will update this policy when our use of cookies changes or the law requires it.

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and the updated version takes effect as soon as it is posted. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies.
